Indian Centre for Research & Development of Community Education (ICRDCE)

SUEB Development Community College has been associated with ICRDCE since 2008.

ICRDCE, India is an initiative of Jesuit Madurai province and ICRDCE Trust. It was started in January 1999. It is a facilitating and coordinating agency for community college in India. SUEB Development Community college was started in the year 2008. Various courses in Typing, Computer, Tailoring, Spoken English and soft Skills are conducted here, with career counseling guidance for rural children studying at SUEB. It got affiliated with the Tamilnadu Open University for diploma course in Computer, Tailoring and Catering in the same year. ICRDCE has guided and helped us to get TNOU affiliation. SUEB Development Community College is established in the districts of Kancheepuram & Thiruvannamalai in Tamilnadu state and in the districts of Kohlapur and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra.

As a result of the affiliation, we are able to educate the children from the rural areas is DDTP (computer), DFGM (Tailoring), DCA (Catering) courses offered by the Tamilnadu Open University, Chennai. We conduct these courses in our branch at Arni and Medavakkam. A total of 403 students have studied under the
TNOU programme since 2008. Ten students out of them have secured University ranks in the examinations conducted by TNOU. We are also happy to inform that we have under taken the DFGM and DDTP courses for prisoners in the Vellore central prison under the Mahatma Gandhi Community college scheme. So far 145 prison students have been benefitted through this initiative. We thank ICRDCE for their financial support for this educational programme at Vellore central prison. We have been able to serve the neediest people over the years, continuously working       towards evolving persons who are empowered and able to get job placements, through training and means to livelihood.

ICRDCE also conducts training for upgrading the skills of the staff of SUEB Community college. This training is very useful, interesting and informative and keeps our staff abreast of development in the field of continuing education. Moreover with the continued guidance and cooperation of ICRDCE we are able to understand in great depth about the community college movement in India and Overseas.
